All-Canadian Doll
I do not consider myself a hockey mom. When I look at myself in the mirror I do not see a hockey mom. But, when I think about the last three days and the fact that I have been to the rink 11 times and am scheduled to be there again tonight – then I realize I am a hockey mom. Of the five kids, four play hockey and, if you ask the youngest, he plans to play as well. Our little girl has been playing for the past couple of months. She loves it when she is there although few of her classmates or peers play. At this age that doesn’t seem to matter but I am guessing it will play a role down the road.
My daughter doesn’t play with dolls. She tends to prefer to do crafts or play games but when I saw the Maplelea Girl “hockey doll” I thought it would be something she would really like to have. I am not sure she would play with it but it certainly sends out the right message and I think she would love to have a girl “hockey toy”.
